Free Naloxone Offer from Hanover County Community Services Board
Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,We hope you are having a great week. We are writing to inform you of several opportunities and resources the Hanover County Community Services Board (CSB) asked that we share with you.

Earlier this year, our valued partners with the CSB began a new, free program in which Hanover County residents 18 years and older can receive naloxone – a drug used to counter or temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid-related overdose – via mail at no charge.

While we, of course, hope it is never needed, similar to a fire extinguisher, we recognize that having naloxone on hand can save a life in the event of an emergency. The CSB simply would like to make you aware of this resource that can make all the difference in a critical moment. The request form for free naloxone by mail can be found here.

In addition to the naloxone by mail program, the CSB is offering Virginia’s statewide Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education program (REVIVE!), which is designed to train individuals in recognizing and responding to opioid overdose emergencies with naloxone, several times over the next few months. Please note that this free training is not required to receive the naloxone by mail that is described above. To learn more about this training, please visit the Hanover County Behavioral Health Wellness website.

If you are interested in learning more about the CSB’s work, resources, and training opportunities, you can sign up for the agency’s newsletter here.

Thank you.
